About Me

My name is Mandy E. McDuffie, and I am a senior at Western Carolina University. I am pursuing a degree in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations. I am also a part of an approved program in Health Communication.

My career goal is to work with patients and hospital staff alike, to promote better health care facilities and a more personal health care experience to patients in the areas around Fayetteville, North Carolina.

In the fall of 2016, I served as the Director of Sponsorship and Catering for Dance Marathon, a non-profit that raises money for Children’s Miracle Network. I am currently serving in the Western Carolina University Admissions Office as Vice President of the Tour Guides, and in the fall of 2017, I will serve as the Public Relations Director for Western Carolina’s chapter of Public Relation Student Society of America. I have taken great pride in seeking out positions on campus that will prepare me for work in a PR office.

I have often been described by my peers as: flexible, determined and a dedicated worker. They see me as a trustworthy friend that makes it a point to do right in all situations.

A quote that I have lived by for many years is: “If you look for something in particular, you run the risk of missing something you weren’t looking for.”

-Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan from the television series Bones.

I believe you just have to be open to new experiences.
