About Me

My name is Colin Croat, and I am a senior at Western Carolina University pursing a degree in Communication. My concentration within the major is Public Relations and my minor is International Studies.

A career goal of mine has always been to work somewhere where I am interacting with new people every single day and creating new connections on a daily basis.

During my third year at Western Carolina, I was lucky enough to work as a tour guide for the university. This allowed  me to make those daily connections with new individuals as I showed potential students the campus and what they would experience if they did choose to come to Western Carolina. I have also had the amazing opportunity to work as a research assistant for a Communication faculty member, which has provided me with a great amount of experience and knowledge of the professional world. These opportunities have allowed me to stretch my horizon outside of just taking classes and get involved in situations that could positively shape my future.

My peers often described me as: determined, influential, and credible. I believe these traits are often showcased due to my mindset of always giving one hundred percent to everything I do and not accepting anything less.

Robert F. Kennedy once said, “Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly”. This has been a quote that has continuously pushed me to do great things.

Never be afraid to fail and you will shock even yourself with what you can accomplish.
